Strategies from the Field: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Action

Transforming organizational culture to be equitable, diverse and inclusive is no small task. Investment in process and policy is just as important as investment in critical skills building of staff and leadership to be advocates of equity no matter where they are situated in an organization. This training will overview not only best practices in the field from consultants partnering with companies and organizations in real time but participants will also be invited to participate in a core practice in moving past unconscious bias and into courageous EDI leadership. This workshop is equal parts lecture and skills building and attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of what it takes to truly move individuals and organizations towards transformation.

Pei Chen Senior Associate, REDF
Senior Associate Pei Chen’s responsibilities include working with social enterprise organizations in the REDF portfolio to help them operate more effectively so they can maximize impact in their communities. Upon moving to San Francisco, Pei quickly recognized the extent of the city’s homeless population. Using her business skills, she committed to investing in market-based solutions that would allow social enterprise organizations to tackle the problem head on. A graduate of Northwestern University, Pei enjoys hiking, camping, and climbing and is an ardent Detroit Red Wings fan.
